Traditional Thai massage is done on the floor, fully clothed, and on a thick cotton mat. A therapist uses their hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches and also applies deep muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure.
A form of Deep Tissue manipulation, but much slower and more forceful in the application. The feet are used to glide over large muscle groups, spreading and stretching the fascia in addition to the muscles. Very hypnotic.
Perfect for addressing very specific areas of concern. This approach is commonly geared toward injury recovery, post // pre-op surgical procedures and repetitive motion type ailments. Can obviously be a great adjunct within more relaxing sessions, as you are able to receive the best of both worlds.
Swedish style massage is the most widely practiced style of massage due to its ability to both relax and energize the body. Long rhythmic strokes are moved towards the heart to improve circulation, white blood cell count, flexibility and stress reduction.
Used primarily to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues.
An ancient form of energy work, Reiki is designed to balance the chakras (energy centers) of your neurological system in order to open your body's own healing capabilities. It is completely passive and only a light touch will be physically felt. Energetically however, recipients can experience a number of sensations including floating, spinning, lucid dreaming, tingling, vibration or even waves of intense emotion.
*Most sessions are eclectic in nature and may include several of these applications during one appointment.
